Sally sat down at her computer to check her email before she headed off to bed. She was surprised when a chat box opened and Daniel began a conversation. DANIELL: Happy Valentine's Day! SAL27: Same to you! I got the card you sent today. Thanks. It was so cute. Wish I could give you a big hug and a kiss. ;-) DANIELL: I got the box of cookies you sent. Got them yesterday. I swear, when you see me in March, I'll probably have ten more pounds on me just due to the cookies you send me. I think you bake more now then you used to. SAL27: :-) Well, I don't want you and your flat mate starving! DANIELL: Thanks. They are really good. SAL27: So how's work? DANIELL: Very well, I really fit in. Everyone seems to like my ideas, and I'm learning a lot. SAL27: That's good. DANIELL: How are your classes going? SAL27: okay DANIELL: That doesn't seem very enthusiastic. SAL27: Well, my computer class is kinda hard. DANIELL: Hmmm. Maybe you should get a tutor? SAL27: Well, I'm getting together with my group every week, and together we get a lot done. It's just I'm not sure I understand everything when I'm by myself. DANIELL: Sounds like me and Calculus a couple years ago. SAL27: sigh Well, Rick is trying to get through to me, but sometimes I just don't think it helps. DANIELL: Well, hang in there, you're a bright gal, you'll get it. ;-) SAL27: Thanks. :-) DANIELL: Did you have a good day today? SAL27: Had a physics test. :-p DANIELL: Eww. SAL27: It went okay. Then I came home and we watched sappy movies and binged on chocolate like we usually do to celebrate this holiday. DANIELL: Sounds like fun. I went to work, then ate a couple of your cookies for lunch, thinking of you all day. It seemed everywhere I looked today there was couple holding hands, or hugging or laughing or somethingMade me realize how much I miss being around you. SAL27: I saw a lot of that too, I miss you too. How did this holiday get started anyway? DANIELL: Well I think it was back in the 3rd century, the Roman Emperor banned marriages because unattached men were more eager to fight then men who had families or loved ones waiting for them. Valentine was a preacher who secretly wed couples. But eventually he was caught and killed. "Died for love" kind of thing. SAL27: Interesting. You amaze me with your knowledge. DANIELL: Another legend says he was arrested and before he was beheaded he gave a note to a guard's daughter he healed. It read "From your Valentine." They buried him on the 14th of February. SAL27: Decapitation? DANIELL: Good grief. It's a holiday about love and faithfulness, not beheading. SAL27: Do you think you'd loose your head for me? DANIELL: I already have. ;-) SAL27: Awwww. You're so sappy, but it's so cute! DANIELL: Smirk I pride myself on my wit and charm. SAL27: giggle DANIELL: Isn't that what seduced you in the first place? SAL27: hehee I think it was your eyes. DANIELL: Mere physical attraction? SAL27: Well no, but they can say so much. sigh, thinking about them now DANIELL: You just love me for my eyes? SAL27: They are the windows to the soul, right. sooo I'm in love with your soul. ;-) DANIELL: My soul, huh? SAL27: wiggles eyebrows DANIELL: shakes head SAL27: Well, what about me seduced you? DANIELL: A little bit of everything. SAL27: Oh, come on! I was honest to you, now you have to be straightforward with me. name a part. DANIELL: I think it was your demeanor. The way you always seem to have things under control, and yet you make me feel strong by coming to me when you need help. SAL27: 'Cause you're my hero! DANIELL: blushes SAL27: You are so cute! DANIELL: sigh I wish you were here. SAL27: Yeah, me too. From the weather reports I'm getting, England is not getting all this snow! DANIELL: Still snowing? SAL27: We've had at least seven days of classes canceled. There are rumors of canceling spring break! DANIELL: No! They can't do that! SAL27: I hope not, I'm really looking forward to visiting London. DANIELL: You're just coming for London? SAL27: Well, I guess there are a few people I'd like to see while I'm there. ;-) DANIELL: A few? SAL27: Okay, just one! DANIELL: Go check your email! SAL27: k SAL27: That is so Cute!!!! Thank you. You are so sweet. DANIELL: Knew you'd like it. SAL27: blows a kiss DANIELL: I heard a song today that reminded me of you. SAL27: Oh? DANIELL: It was called.... um ... SAL27: hehee DANIELL: I had it just a minute ago. SAL27: Who was it by? DANIELL: Oh Hal Ketchum! She is. SAL27: She is? DANIELL: sings "She is the reason God made moonlit gardens... She is the sun.." It was a good song. I'll have to check into it. You'd like it. SAL27: That reminds you of me? You big softy. DANIELL: Smiles Almost everything reminds me of you. SAL27: Almost? DANIELL: Well, I can't say that diluting manure with minerals and water to create a fertilizer pulp exactly reminds me of you. SAL27: LOL Point. DANIELL: That reminds me, I'd better go. I have to be up for work tomorrow, and it's two a.m. SAL27: Yeah, you'd better get some sleep. I love you! Sweet dreams! DANIELL: Usually do, I always dream of you. ;-) SAL27: I think I'm going into sugar shock. DANIELL: Love you, G'Night. SAL27: Night. DANIELL signed off 8:00 pm. Sally sighed while closing the box; a content smile graced her lips. She would be having sweet dreams tonight too.
